True to its name…this cheek color is balmy. It’s not mousse-y, matte or opaque-creamy. It deposits a smooth, translucent flush of color but without any noticeable texture. There’s a quiet sheen but the finish is not explicitly glossy. The color truly looks like it was born where I apply it. Like it’s coming from within. It looks “real.”

Rose Madder gives a radiant but subtle ‘Naturally colored, cherry-flavored popsicle/lollipop’ flush. On my skin tone (light-neutral leaning cool olive/Shade T5 in Lisa’s Skin Tint), the cherry-ness has a very slight cool pink lean…but it ultimately sits more on the ‘subtle neutral soft red with a tiny dash of a cooler pink’ side.

On the lips, it looks stunning both on its own and also blended with Lisa’s 0N lip liner.

Note that it has a light vanilla cream scent. Comparable to Lisa’s Baume Embrace but this fragrance is a bit sweeter to my nose. Almost like the very best Easter candy :). I personally don’t mind it but it’s good to know up front…especially as it’s a multi-use product. It’s definitely noticeable so keep this in mind if you’re scent-sensitive and/or if sweet vanilla simply isn’t your fragrance-jam.

Oh Golly! The Velatura Balm Dewy lip and cheek stick in Rose Madder is GORGEOUS!! This color is beyond what I have dreamed of for my extremely cool toned pale skin! I use Lisa's Skin tint in the lightest shade for reference. Rose Madder is a darker cool toned Rose pink and it goes on dewy and sheer on the cheeks and lips. The color on the cheeks is gorgeous and is lasting.

It goes on like a balm on the lips so using a lip pencil will enhance the staying power. This is in an excellent tube so you can have it in a handbag for touchups and it's perfect for travel as it dies double duty! This Rose Madder Color is now an obsession of mine. Seriously it is! I was impressed by the way this has real pigment that is buildable and looks particularly impressive on the lips. Products like these often don’t work for lips and cheeks but this one absolutely does. It is also great to take out with you and just top up with your fingers on your cheeks and lips during the day - so easy and so beautiful. This colour is perfect for my fair cool toned skin. Highly recommend!! I’m going back for more shades! .
