I have only ever used the Fawn Palette, and while I like it a lot, there was quite a steep learning curve to it (or at least it was for me), so I was a bit hesitant about whether to get this one. However, one look at this colour story in real life at Liberty London convinced me that I needed it in my life.

The colours are absolutely gorgeous and they are balanced well enough not to pull too cool or too warm unless you are on the very end of the spectrum one way or another (I was particularly worried about Dunes being too orange, but it is really not - more of a warm sand/camel tone). The shimmers are very manageable, too. They look intimidating on camera, but in real life, they are far more subtle. The first swipe goes on very lightly, but they can be easily built up either by using more pressure or by going over the lid with another layer. And they all bleend perfectly - both with the mattes, and with one another.

My biggest concern was the Sahara shade. I love the colour, but I have always struggled with Lisa´s velvet formula. It is not the most intuitive one to work with, and Sahara is no exception. The transfer from the pan to my finger or a brush was fine, but getting it on the lid was a bit of a struggle for me, until I tried to use the stiffer flat brush with it. Suddenly, it picks up and transfers onto the lid like nothing, and it also blends very well with the rest of the shades.
