Jessica Biel at Cannes

31 May 2013

During my time at the Cannes Film Festival I had the pleasure of making up the stunningly beautiful, and very lovely, Jessica Biel for various private and public events. Here are two of the looks:

Look 1 (top) - Dior  Show Monaco. Despite the shockingly bad weather – torrential rain and gales – we went for an uber glamourous and uncomprimisingly bright pink lip. The colour worked well with Jessica's black, white and pink Dior dress and clashed in a cool modern way with her fabulous enameled hot orange David Webb earrings.

Skin:

I kept skin very natural and fresh looking using my current favourite Skin Nude BB Cream. by Dior.

Eyes:

As lips were definitely the star of the show, I defined Jessica's eyes lightly using the warm bronze Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow in 'Tweed' and the light minky shade 'Panama' with a touch of DiorShow Iconic Overcurl Mascara in 'Over Black'. Brows were defined lightly and kept natural. To give them glossy finish I combed throught with the Shavata Brow Tamer.

Cheeks:

I applied a very light wash of Dior's Glowing Colour Powder Blush in 'A Touch of Blush' to give a barely there effect.

Lips:

I wanted a fresh, bright cool fuchsia and Rouge Dior Lipstick in Trafalger Pink - 565 fit the bill as it had the dense pigment and shine I was looking for.

Look 2  - Premiere night. Jessica hit the red carpet with her equally charming husband Justin Timberlake - cute couple alert! This time I did a much softer look with a ballerina feel. To compliment the rather amazing silvery grey Marchessa dress (complete with a black swan-esque feathered hemline) the tones were all muted with a rosy glow and simply defined eyes. A classic and pretty event make-up that would also work really well for a wedding.

Skin:

For this look I used Make Up For Ever - HD Foundation - 115 Ivory and a little Becca Shimmering Skin perfector just on to the top of the cheekbones. For concealing I used Dior's Hydra Life Enhancing Eye Illuminator  and Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage  in SC2. Skin was finished with Chanel's Poudre Universel in 20 Clair and a ballerinas rosy glow with Les Tissages De Chanel Blush Duo Tweed Effect - Pink

Eyes:

I defined Jessicas eyes with one of my favourite red carpet eye shadow palettes Dior - 5 Couleurs Eye Shadow - Rosy Tan as it has an amazing mix of warm pinky, plumy and brown tones. I added a touch of Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow - Gris Montaigne to bring a little of the silvery grey colour of the dress into the mix.

I then used Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner - Black Mauve a great violety black liner to line the upper lashes and Chanel's  Le Volume De Chanel Mascara - Noir lightly through upper and lower lashes.

To finish, I applied several of my absolute favourite Liz Martins Lash Enhanced Select Individual lashes with Duo glue. This gave Jessies lashes a lovely light and featherery full look. Very easy to apply and undetectable.

Brows:

I defined brows well using Suqqus Brow powder palette in 01 and Liquid Brow Pen in 02

Lips:

Jessica obviously has amazing lips anyway so in this look I  kept them pale and natural using Bobbi Brown's Lip Liner - Pale Pink and a light slick of Tom Ford's Lip Colour - Nude Vanille

Jessica's hair for both of the events was styled by the fabulous Sascha Breuer  I particularly loved the 20's inspired wavy bob he did in Monaco!
