FAQs
Most refills are made with multiple materials, plastics or magnets, as they are much easier to produce. But, ultimately, this renders them non-recyclable. So, it took years of perseverance from Lisa (and a self-confessed stubborn streak!) to create Rouge Experience, with a case made entirely of aluminium for a truly recyclable, refillable lipstick.
The golden casing is made entirely of aluminium. Strong and pleasingly sturdy, it’s inspired by Lisa’s vintage makeup collection; a treasure trove of beauty artifacts, some centuries old, that have stood the test of time.
In terms of payoff and finish, Rouge Experience sits somewhere between the semi-sheerness of Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour and the pigmented intensity of True Velvet. It has a soft, subtly luminous sheen with a lip-smoothing blur.

I am a big fan of Velvet Ribbon so I bought the refill in Ribbon to replace the shade I got as a gift with the Rouge Experience bullet (just not my color). I like the texture a lot, but I do wish the other textures, especially velvets and insanely saturated, we also available as refills. Velvet Ribbon is my most-worn color, but I will probably wear this version almost as often now.

Simone is a gorgeous, wearable shade on my fair olive skin. It neither washes me out, nor does it make me look sickly - just a really flattering everyday nude. The Rouge formula itself is beautiful. Unlike a lot of other formulas I've used, it doesn't feel thick or waxy, but provides a smoothing effect on my rather dry lips.

I have pinks and I have raspberries but this lies perfectly in between. As I age I am losing natural lip color so brighter shades suit me and this one does so perfectly without making me look too young. Very classy and sophisticated color!
