Why Lilac Eyeliner Is the Most Flattering Pastel for Spring
Hi Beauties,
Discover why this soft pastel eyeliner fits and flatters everyone! The main thing to remember, is not to be scared of colour on the eye… not many people know that using eyeshadows with lively undertones that will instantly lift a tired look… and it’s little known that lilac is a universally flattering pep-up shade!
Lilac Eyeliner: The Fresh, Modern Way to Wear Colour
If you’ve ever wanted to experiment with coloured pastel eyeliner but didn’t know where to begin, lilac eyeliner is the perfect place to start. My NEW! Lilac Time Seamless Glide Eye Pencil is a fresh, clean pastel lilac with a completely matte finish… surprisingly wearable across all skin tones, delivering a bright yet refined pop of colour.
Why Lilac Eyeliner Is So Flattering
Lilac is one of the most fresh, eye-enhancing eyeliner shades you can wear - especially if you’re looking to introduce colour in a subtle way. If you’re wondering how to wear lilac eyeliner or make it feel effortless for everyday, the key is placement and what you pair it with!
Keep Skin Fresh and Luminous
Pair your liner with glowing, minimal skin. A luminous eye makeup approach ensures the lilac remains the focal point without competing elements - let the colour do the work! This will keep your overall look balanced, modern and fresh. If you’re only just dipping your toe into colour - a single stroke along the upper lash line or lower waterline is often enough. Pair with Kitten Lash Mascara in Black for a clean, graphic look.
Lilac Eyeliner Makeup Ideas to Try
If you’re looking for inspiration, here are a few easy ways to wear it:
Graphic flick: A clean lilac wing for a modern, editorial edge.
Soft smudge: Blended along the lash line for a diffused pastel haze.
Monochrome: Pair with the pastel shadow tones from the Betty palette.
A Modern Take on Pastels
When creating the Betty palette, the goal was to explore soft purple eyeshadow in a way that felt modern and wearable. Purples and pastels can feel intimidating, but when balanced correctly, they’re some of the most flattering shades you can wear and can really make eye colours pop. I love playing with colour and I’ve collaborated on so many amazing pastel looks with many of my clients. I love a fluffy, ‘cloud’ eye look, it’s so much fun and would be great for a party or event. Creating soft clouds of seamless colour on the eye is an effortless way to make a pastel or bold colour wearable, or you could wear it just along the upper lash-line for a subtle flash of colour.
Pick your pastel and apply on the lid with a soft, fluffy brush (I would recommend my Seamless Blend Brush No.9) and really buff out well, so there are no visible edges. Combining pastels with neutrals can make them even more wearable - a taupe eyeshadow blended into the socket, or a more neutral liner, will help ground the colour so it's not too overpowering, especially on deeper skin tones. To keep your look modern and fresh, pair your pastel eye with a naturally perfected base, a ‘my lips but better’ lip and softly defined, fanned out lashes. For this look, I would recommend my Kitten Lash Mascara in Burnt Umber.
If you’re looking for makeup colour inspiration that feels fresh yet timeless, pastels are your answer for softness yet with impact.
Love,
Lisa Xx
