As a makeup artist, I've spent years studying the relationship between skin and light. In Hollywood's Golden Age, the greatest makeup artists and cinematographers understood how to create skin that appeared fresh, luminous and beautifully flattering on camera. I've always been fascinated by this Hollywood lighting skin effect. It was about understanding where light naturally falls and using makeup to enhance that.

 What I love about old Hollywood glamour makeup is how relevant the looks still feel. It comes down to texture and placement. Light naturally hits the tops of the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, the brow bones and the cupid's bow. Adding a touch of sheen to these areas can instantly make the complexion look fresher and more awake.

When creating Elevated Glow Balm Concentrate, I was inspired by the iconic lighting techniques used throughout Hollywood’s golden age to make actresses like Marilyn Monroe appear luminous on screen. Butterfly Light (a pearly champagne) and High-Key Light (a warm bronze) are both named after classic cinematic lighting styles that sculpted, softened and illuminated the face in the most flattering way. I wanted to translate that same glowing, diffused effect into a cutting-edge modern highlighter formula that absolutely everyone could use.

I wanted a formula that would melt into the skin and create that effect effortlessly. The hot-poured balm texture blends seamlessly, leaving behind a soft, skin-like finish that looks beautiful in every light. It can be worn alone on bare skin, layered over complexion products or applied wherever you want to bring a little more dimension to the face.

Few faces have been studied more than the Marilyn Monroe's, and people often focus on the red lip or the eyeliner, but I wanted to attempt to bottle what many have described as Marilyn's ability to light up a room with her natural luminosity. My new Elevated Glow Balm Concentrate is my modern take on this, imparting the skin with an otherworldly luminance.

One of the things I enjoy most about this balm is how adaptable it is. I created Elevated Glow Balm as a true multi-use balm makeup product, designed to be used on cheekbones, eyelids, the bridge of the nose and the cupid's bow. Some days you might tap a little onto bare skin before heading out the door. Other days you might layer it over foundation, and even smooth on to the lips. It's designed to create a naturally luminous complexion makeup look with minimal effort.

I’ve always believed that makeup and skincare should work beautifully together, and my balm delivers a nourishing glow, infused with skin-loving ingredients that support the look and feel of the skin. Organic Phyto-Retinol, an oil extracted from Sea Fennel, helps smoothe and refine the appearance of texture, while Brown Algae Extract supports immediate and long-term hydration. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride softens and conditions, for a comfortable, supple feel that makes the balm melt effortlessly into skin.
